The Good Salon Guide is the only independent guide to quality standards in hairdressing and beauty in the UK and Ireland. The company behind the guide commissioned needed a new website to position the brand more appropriately and provide a range of tools that helped profile salons more effectively, create community and provide a space for industry comment.
- Contrapositive designed and built a new website based on a developed version of the Good Salon Guide brand mark and high quality photography.
- The site was built on Contrapositive's content management platform Merge, the social CMS. It allows seamless integration with the social web as GSG pushes and pulls content to and from its various social networking sites.
- The site also utilises Merge's geolocation search features to let users find salons near them and even let them filter these results by specialism or service.
- Salon owners can also access and update their own profiles, allowing them to keep information current and promote the business in the way they want to.
