The Background

Ben Flynn, a.k.a. EINE, shot to international fame when David Cameron presented one of his works to President Obama as a gift on his first official state visit. He is arguably more famous for 'Alphabet Street' – the shutters and murals he painted in his trademark colours and typography in Middlesex Street, London – described by The Times as "a street now internationally recognised as a living piece of art with direct links to The White House." Top London design agency Root commissioned Contrapostive to develop a website that allowed Ben to communicate more directly with his fans.

The Solution

  • Designed a blog based website, featuring heavily his iconic artwork.
  • The site is built on Contrapositive's site management platform Merge, the social CMS Merge allows Ben to publish updates to his friends and followers across social network whilst simultaneously updating his website.
  • The social tools included in Merge allow him to push and pull content to and from the social web, ensuring a seamless experience and integrated experience for fans.
  • Ben also updates his portfolio and blog using Merge's more standard content management features.
